Local Fishing & Boating Charters
When is the best time to go fishing? It is an often question to charter captains. The answer is a simple one "IT IS ALWAYS A GOOD TIME TO GO FISHING!" Fishing is a Verb, it is something that you do. It is the thrill of being on the Big Lake, the fresh air, the sun, the camaraderie and bonding with friends, family and associates.
The Saint Joseph area is one of the popular ports for Great Lakes fishing. In fact more charter trips are run out of this port annually that any other in the State of Michigan. It is not hard to see why. The Southwestern Michigan shoreline is outstandingly breathtaking, with magnificent beaches and sand dunes. Saint Joseph in particular offers modern, convenient shopping, restaurants and motel accommodations in a clean and wholesome setting.
Saint Joseph has a quaint small town feel with large town amenities. Close by parks for camping, nature trails, bike paths, winery tours and first rate golf courses serve to round out your experience. One of our newest golf courses is a Jack Nicholas Signature Course, that will be ready for Spring 2010, the full 18-hole course will meander through native wetlands and natural sand dunes, with 10 holes gracing the banks of the Paw Paw River and the Ox Creek wetlands and three holes fall in the dunes along stuffing Lake Michigan.
Having said that, the catching (fishing) here is superb, steady throughout the season. Beginning in April close to shore for lunker Brown Trout and finishing the season in August and September for huge King Salmon and feisty Coho. Depending on the time of the seasons and water temperature you may be fishing within a stones throw of one of our beautiful beaches or some ten to twenty miles offshore guided by satellite in pursuit of the acrobatic Steelhead.
Call one of our Charter Captains now and arrange a charter date, they will be happy to fulfill any special requests you may have.
